Doctoral Programs

Doctoral Fellows

All doctoral students are encouraged to become active in this group. It normally meets at least once each semester, frequently with lunch and a speaker of special interest to Ph.D. students. This is an opportunity to meet faculty and students in an informal setting. The purpose of the Doctoral Fellows is to stimulate intellectual activity beyond the limits of the discipline of the classroom, encourage scholarship, sustain the honor and dignity of the college, advance its welfare and interests in the academic community, and promote a closer acquaintance between present and past doctoral students by:

Having discussions with distinguished guests from the fields of business, government and education

Promoting departmental activities to permit members to exchange ideas with the faculty in an informal setting

Offering to the faculty and administration of the college whatever service or assistance the organization can provide such as helping new degree candidates become oriented to GSU as well as the surrounding community offering assistance for conferences, special lectures and programs

Sponsoring social events to promote camaraderie among members and their spouses or friends.
