With the change to electronic storage, students will not need to submit hard copies of the dissertation to the Doctoral Program Office. Since we are just beginning to implement the new procedures, this list may be subject to change.
Student will submit the Record of Final Oral Examination and the Acceptance Sheet to the Doctoral Program Office. These forms can be downloaded from: http://www.robinson.gsu.edu/academic/doctoral/current/forms.html
The Acceptance Sheet will be signed by the committee members and the dean and will remain in the student's file, but will NOT be uploaded into the library copy.
Once the student has made all changes to the dissertation and the committee has approved it, the Doctoral Program Office will assist the student in uploading the dissertation to the library's database.
The student will also upload the dissertation to UMI Dissertation Services for microfiching at a cost of $55.00. The Doctoral Program Office will assist the student with this step.
Student will submit Survey of Earned Doctorates Form to the Doctoral Programs Office. This form can be downloaded at: http://www.grad.uiuc.edu/forms/SurveyOfEarnedDoctorates.pdf
Students wishing to receive bound copies of their dissertations may submit copies of their dissertation to the Doctoral Programs Office to be sent to the bindery. The student must enclose the following along with the printed, unbound copies:
- A letter giving detailed shipping instructions (dissertations will be sent to the student via UPS) and a phone number
- Credit card information (the bindery will charge the student the current discounted rate {currently $7.60} per dissertation plus shipping charges).
Since the Doctoral Programs Office will not be checking these dissertations, students must make sure that all dissertations are ready for binding and boxed for pickup with the previously mentioned letter taped to the outside of the box
