MBA Career Paths: Accounting Information Systems Design & Assurance

There is a dire need for those who understand general business principles, along with technology and accounting. A career path in Accounting Information Systems Design and Assurance prepares students for a career in this much sought-after area.

This career path essentially provides the students the opportunity to obtain an MBA with the same accounting systems focus that is available in the Master of Professional Accountancy program. Students entering the program should have an undergraduate accounting degree.

Students leaving the program will be well-prepared to enter into a public accounting career with the major accounting firms. Once employed they could easily move into a consulting track where they would help companies design systems with built-in auditing controls. Or they could enter the assurance service track where they would audit systems for proper design and control. On the corporate side, students could find a career in systems design or audit systems.
