4. How do I audit a course?
Auditing a course involves taking a class without receiving any academic credit or grade for that class. Current students are eligible to audit courses with some restrictions. Special registration procedures apply for auditing a course: Students who wish to audit a course must secure permission from the professor teaching the course. Go to the Georgia State University's Office of the Registrar to begin the process. The student must follow the directions for registering as an auditor found in the Schedule of Classes. Any requirements for prerequisites must be satisfied before registering to audit a course. Students may not transfer from audit to credit status or vice-versa after the last day to register for course credit. For more information regarding auditing a course, consult the most recent GSU graduate catalog.
In the Robinson College, actuarial science courses may not be taken by auditors.

6. How do I request to change my master's program/major/concentration?
To change to another master's program, major, or concentration in the Robinson College of Business, check the requirements for that program in the current graduate bulletin and submit your request to the office of Graduate Admissions & Student Services in writing.
Change-of-program/major/concentration forms are available from the office of Graduate Admissions & Student Services located at 35 Broad Street (RCB Building), Suite 625 or by calling 404-413-7130.
If the change is approved, an updated academic evaluation showing your credits in the new program will be mailed to you.

7. How are master's applications evaluated?
The Robinson College of Business does not set minimum cutoff standards for applicants to master's-level programs. Each applicant is evaluated individually by the Master's Admissions Committee.
In this evaluation, consideration is given to the applicant's academic record (including overall GPA and junior/senior GPA or most recent two-year GPA) scores on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or GRE score for MS programs, educational objectives, career objectives, narrative information, work experience, and professional activities.

14. How important are prerequisites?
Students are cautioned that prerequisites are enforced in many Robinson College of Business classes. At this time, the GoSOLAR system monitors only a small portion of the prerequisites, but students who register for any course without the necessary prerequisites are subject to administrative withdrawal from classes by the instructor, department, or college. Withdrawal usually occurs after all registration for that semester has ended and results in a loss of fees to the student.
Active enforcement of prerequisites occurs in many classes (i.e., all MBA core and required courses, all accounting/tax courses.) In addition, instructors have the prerogative to enforce prerequisites in individual classes by withdrawing violators. Course prerequisites are listed in the graduate catalog with the course descriptions. Students should familiarize themselves with course prerequisites prior to registering.

16. How do I apply for readmission from suspension?
Scholastic warning occurs when a student's GPA for a single semester is below 3.0. A student on warning is suspended when his/her GPA for a single semester and his/her cumulative GPA fall below 3.0. A suspension prohibits enrollment for one semester. To apply for readmission from suspension, read the Scholastic Discipline section in the Master's Enrollment chapter of the current graduate bulletin. Then file an application-for-readmission-from-scholastic suspension form with office of Graduate Admissions & Student Services six weeks prior to the first day of registration for the semester in which reinstatement is sought. A student readmitted from suspension is placed on probation until his/her cumulative GPA reaches 3.0. At that time, he/she returns to good standing. A GPA below 3.0 while on probation would result in permanent exclusion from graduate study in the Robinson College of Business.

17. How do I request to attend another school temporarily and transfer the course back to GSU (transient status)?
Transient status occurs when a student temporarily attends another school and transfers the course(s) back to Georgia State University. To request transient status, a student must read and complete a "Petition to be a Transient Student at Another Institution". This form can be found in the office of Graduate Admissions & Student Services in the RCB Building (Suite 625, 35 Broad Street).
The following is a summary of the Eligibility and Policy Statements. Read the current GSU graduate catalog, as appropriate, for further information.
Graduate students must have at least a 3.0 GSU cumulative GPA. The content of each course to be taken elsewhere must correspond to that of a GSU course required, or permitted, in the student's degree/certificate program here. Students who have enrolled in the Robinson College of Business must obtain prior written approval from the office of Graduate Admissions & Student Services to take subsequent coursework for credit as a transient student at any other institution if the intention is to apply such work toward a degree or certificate in this college. Failure to obtain this required approval may prevent the acceptance of such credits by the college.
Students may not take courses for degree credit at another institution during the semester they expect to graduate from GSU. Courses completed by correspondence may not apply toward graduate credit.
