School of Accountancy Awards 2002

Financial Executive Institure Scholar Awards
Each year the Atlanta Chapter of Financial Executive Institute (FEI) honors five juniors based on nominations by FEI members, academic achievement, community service and faculty recommendations.  Students receive a cash award and a plaque.

Kathryn C. Buckner/Pricewaterhouse Coopers Scholarships
Annually, in honor of Kathryn C. Buckner, PricewaterhouseCoopers selects two seniors to receive scholarships based on their accounting achievements and application to the Masters of Professional Accountancy or Masters of Taxation program at Georgia State University.

BeckerConviser CPA Review Scholarship
Each year, a fifth year accounting student is awarded a full scholarship to the BeckerConviser CPA Review course based on their academic achievement to assist in preparation for the CPA examination required for certification.

Each year, a Masters of Taxation student with outstanding achievement in Estate/Gift Taxation and Estate Planning (TX 8220) receives a cash award  sponsored by Arthur Andersen.

Deloitte & Touche Excellence Award in International Taxation
Each year, a Masters of Taxation student with outstanding achievement in International Aspects of Taxation (TX 8300) receives a cash award  sponsored by Deloitte & Touche.

Lila Munchak

PricewaterhouseCoppers Excellence Award in Corporate Tax
Each year, a Masters of Taxation student with outstanding achievement in Taxation of Corporations and Shareholders (TX 8120) receives a cash award  sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Seth Trugman

PricewaterhouseCoopers Excellence Award in Tax Research
Each year, a Masters of Taxation student with outstanding achievement in Tax Research (TX 8030) receives a cash award  sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Jonathan Wentworth

Deloitte & Touche Achievement Award
Each year, Deloitte & Touche recognizes the junior with the highest academic standing and evidence of leadership and promise in the field of accounting with a cash award. 

Sara Wojcik

Faculty Recognition Award
Each year, the faculty of the School of Accountancy recognizes the undergraduate student with the highest academic achievement, leadership in school activities and professional aptitude with a cash award.

Frazier & Deeter Scholarship
Each year, Frazier and Deeter honor an undergraduate student in metropolitan Atlanta with high academic achievement with a cash award.

Norman X. Dressel Scholarship
Each year, a student with good character, demonstrated scholastic achievement, and acceptance into the Masters of Professional Accountancy program is given a cash award in honor of Norman X. Dressel.

Mizuho Llewellyn

John W. Cook Scholarship
Each year, a newly entering Masters of Professional Accountancy student with high academic achievement receives a cash award in honor of John W. Cook.

Thao Trinh

Federation Of Schools Of Accountancy Student Award
Each year, the Federation of Schools of Accountancy awards a student with a recognition plaque based on the academic achievement of a fifth year accounting student.

L. E. Berry Graduate Fellowship
Each year, an outstanding Masters of Professional Accountancy student specializing in systems receives a cash award in honor of the retired Director of the School of Accountancy, L. Eugene Berry.

Oksana Greydinger

George Allen Chance III Scholarship
Each year, in honor of George Allen Chance III, a student with 15 or fewer credit hours in the Masters of Professional Accountancy program demonstrating high academic achievement receives a cash award.

Jason Poon

Henry F. Stabler Award
Each year, in honor of Henry F. Stabler, a student demonstrating leadership in the community and high academic qualifications receives a cash award.

Gary Winkle Award
Each year, in honor of Gary Winkle, a student entering the Masters of Professional Accountancy program with high scholastic achievement receives a cash award.

Catherine E. Miles Doctoral Fellowship
Each year, in honor of the former director of the School of Accountancy, Catherine E. Miles, a doctoral student recommended by the faculty and with high scholarly ability receives a cash award.

Emad Mohamed

Leland Whettan Award
Each year, in honor of Leland Whettan, a student with outstanding ability in accounting theory or an outstanding senior accounting major is honored with a cash award.

Lesley Lochridge

National Association Of Black Accountants Leadership Award
Each year, a member of the National Association of Black Accountants receives a cash award in recognition of their leadership ability and contributions to the Georgia State University chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants.

Nepheteri Mewborn

Ernst & Young Excellence In Corporate Reorganizations Award
Each year, Ernest & Young recognizes an outstanding Masters of Taxation student in the field of corporation taxation with a cash award.
