Michael Braswell is President of SouthStar Energy Services LLC, which operates primarily in the Southeast under the trade names Georgia Natural Gas, Florida Natural Gas and Piedmont Energy (in the Carolinas). In Ohio, the company operates as Ohio Natural Gas. Michael has nearly 20 years of experience in the natural gas industry, working in both regulated and deregulated environments. He is responsible for ensuring the continued success of Georgia's leading natural gas provider, as well as SouthStar's expanding retail and commercial operations in six other states.

Prior to being named President, Michael served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for SouthStar. He also has served as Vice President-Retail Markets and as Vice President-Customer Service and Strategic Planning. In his position as Vice President-Retail Markets, he was responsible for the operations of the retail market, including gas supply, asset management, and sales for residential, small commercial and large industrial customers. As Vice President-Customer Service and Strategic Planning, he oversaw customer service, billing and business planning.
Before joining SouthStar, Michael held various key positions over a 10-year period with AGL Resources, working in marketing, sales management, rates and strategic planning.
Michael currently serves as an executive committee member for the National Energy Marketers Association (NEMA) and is a member of the board of directors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Under Michael's leadership, SouthStar has been recognized nationally for its corporate philanthropy and employee volunteerism program.
Michael earned an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from Georgia State University. Prior to that, he earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech.
Michael resides in Atlanta with his wife and four children.
