Tinsley Irvin is retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alexander & Alexander Services Inc. (A&A), the second-largest insurance brokerage company and largest retail insurance broker in the world.
After having served as Executive Vice President since 1978, Tinsley became President of A&A in March 1982 and Chairman and CEO in 1988. He was elected to the Executive Committee in 1975. He is a member of the Board of Directors and became Chairman of the Management Executive Committee in May 1987. |
Tinsley was Chairman of Alexander & Alexander Inc., the U.S. operating unit of A&A Services, from September 1983 until February 1988. He also was President, CEO and Chief Operating Officer of A&A Inc.
Tinsley's insurance career began in Atlanta with Hartford Insurance Co. He joined A&A's Atlanta office as a sales producer in 1953 and was Director of the company's southeast region (based in Atlanta) from 1971 to 1977.
Tinsley is a member of the board of directors of Equifax Inc. as well as the Advisory Board of the British American Chamber of Commerce.
Tinsley is a native of Cornelia, Georgia, and earned a B.B.A. in Insurance from Georgia State University. He resides in Vinings, Georgia, with his wife Gail. Their two daughters also live in Georgia. |
