Donald Barnes
Donald Barnes is a fourth-year Ph.D. Candidate at Mississippi State University. He holds a Bachelor in Finance from State University of New York at Fredonia, and a MBA from Clemson University. His current research interests focus on the impact of service encounters on both employees and customers, as well as the application of the Service-Dominant Logic.

Donald's doctoral dissertation investigates the effect of customer delight on the employee (essay 1 and essay 2), as well as the customer in a service encounter (essay 3).  The main thrust of this research is that psychological and behavioral benefits exist for the employee who delights the customer.

His work appears in the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, College Student Journal, and he has manuscripts under review at the Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice. He has presented papers or working papers at AMA Winter, AMA Summer, Frontiers in Service, and SMA conferences.

He has reviewed papers for the AMA, SMA, and SCP conferences, as well as several journals.

Donald has taught marketing research, principles of marketing (online and in-class), consumer behavior, and services marketing (undergraduate and graduate).
