Hulda G. Black is a third-year marketing PhD candidate at the Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky. She has received graduate certificates in statistics and health communication from the University of Kentucky. Hulda has an undergraduate degree in marketing from Ferris State University in Michigan. She holds an MBA from Grand Valley State University in Michigan.
Hulda was the chair-elect for the Doctoral Students' Special Interest Group (DocSIG) for two years, and she is currently the chair of DocSIG. She has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Retailing and the Society for Marketing Advances conference.
Hulda's research interests include services, strategy, and health care. Her dissertation will explore the firm's role in intercustomer social support, specifically how the firm can influence customer groups in an effort to impact the firm's financial return and the customers' well-being. Hulda's work appears in the Journal of Service Research and the Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing. She has presented working papers at AMA Summer and the Society for Marketing Advances conferences.
