Accommodations for Consortium Fellows
All the Consortium Fellows will be provided rooms at the University Commons, located on the corner of Piedmont and Ellis streets in downtown Atlanta on the nights of June 11-13. Just a 15-minute walk from the Helen M. Aderhold Learning Center and the Rialto Center for the Arts, the residence halls are the newest addition to the Georgia State campus. Opened in 2007, Georgia State's University Commons is the largest privately funded student housing complex in the nation. The 4.2-acre complex encompasses four apartment buildings ranging from eight to 15 stories and includes on-site parking. The Commons offers two-bedroom, suite-style, fully furnished apartments. Each suite contains:
- air conditioning
- kitchen
- living area
- two bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom
- cable and phone connections
- wireless and Ethernet internet connections
Each bedroom is supplied with:
- sheets
- a pillow
- a pillowcase
- a blanket
- two towels
- one washcloth
There is no room service or housekeeping service, so linens will not be changed or exchanged. A towel exchange is available daily. Toiletries will not be provided. The Commons is a smoke-free facility.
The cost of the accommodations, use of the Student Recreation Center and parking at the Commons garage are included in the $400 registration fee.
