EMBRACING A GLOBAL MARKET
An integral part of Robinson's EMBA program is the International Business Residency, an intensive, 14-day exposition into the management and business practices of companies around the world. At no time are EMBA students in a classroom on this trip. Instead, students meet with company leaders (both indigenous and American-owned companies), tour plants and facilities, and meet with government officials to better understand what it takes to run a successful business overseas.
Past meetings with companies have included INVESCO, UPS, Coca-Cola and Hewlett-Packard as well as government officials who provided students with a first-hand look at the social fabric, technology, infrastructure, politics and culture of the region.
Prior to travel, the class attends an in-depth protocol and trip preparation workshop. Additionally, study teams research and prepare a paper on a company that will be visited on the tour. Company executives receive a copy of the analysis, which is discussed with the teams during the visit.
