Overview:
The need for computer forensics units in commercial and government organizations is new. These units are increasingly required to conduct security violation investigations, monitor and enforce policy compliance, and support litigation requirements. Computer forensics units are highly specialized operations requiring expertise in evidence reservation, data recovery, content analysis and forensics reporting. Organizational forensics units must operate across geographic boundaries, and in close cooperation with corporate counsel, law enforcement, and organizational information services.

This unique course introduces the management of such specialized units. It provides an overview of the organizational requirements for forensics labs, specialized tools and software, and employee training and expertise. The course provides a business and management orientation to a function that is expanding from its role as a law enforcement process to a role as a corporate process.

Participants Will Learn to:

  • Manage forensics operations
  • Evaluate recommendations for forensics laboratory facilities
  • Acquire, develop, and deploy a forensics workforce with the required expertise
  • Establish forensics best practices in differing organizational settings
  • Improve organizational readiness for litigation involving electronically stored
    records and computer-based evidence
  • Set policies that reduce accidental loss or damage to information essential in
    criminal or civil investigations
Who Should Attend:
Chief executives, senior leaders, managers, and interested professionals who desire the knowledge to create and manage a computer forensics function within their organization.
