Overview:
Leadership sets information technology (IT) organizations apart. Leadership is not about expertise but rather the ability to deliver results. All leaders succeed or fail by their ability to structure initiatives, to engage the right people in the appropriate roles, and to work through others in the delivery of meaningful results.

Unfortunately, companies often learn the hard way that without effective leadership, even deploying the best mix of skilled experts and the latest technologies cannot prevent disappointment in results. More than ever, IT projects need leadership as we head into the 21st century of an increasingly competitive global economy that leverages technology more and more every day.

This practice-oriented workshop explores pivotal leadership questions related to the delivery and management of IT in business. Through in-class discovery, participants will understand the qualities needed to become an effective leader.

Participants Will Learn to:

  • Develop self-awareness as a leader of people
  • Acquire essential leadership characteristics and skills
  • Understand what distinguishes effective leaders from weak leaders
  • Be able to create and manage cohesive IT teams
  • Structure change leadership initiatives for success by focusing on factors that are critical to achievement of desired outcomes
  • Know the causes of IT leadership failure and be able to take the necessary actions to avoid such failures
Who Should Attend:
This interactive workshop was created to help specialists or managers having project, technical, or operational responsibility or who are moving into information technology-related leadership roles. The program is also for those seeking to gain confidence in their ability to lead diverse groups in changing situations.

Faculty:

He interacts with businesses in many countries and writes regularly about business strategy and high performance organizations. Dr. Senn is the author of several leading books on management and information systems, including Information Technology in Business, Information Systems in Management, and Analysis and Design of Information Systems.
