 | Overview: IT managers are increasingly being tasked to deliver more, while spending less. This workshop deals with the three main aspects of running a successful IT department: planning, executing, and controlling.

Ephraim McLean, Ph.D., is the Chair of the CIS Department at the Robinson College. He is also a Regents' Professor, the holder of the G.E. Smith Eminent Scholar's Chair, the Director of the Center for Research in Information System, and the Director of the new one-year Executive Master's degree for Managing IT, all within the Robinson College.
Dr. McLean has nearly half a century of IT experience, having begun doing system work for Procter & Gamble in 1962, and he has consulted for CitiBank, Security Pacific Bank, the Lahey Medical Clinic in Boston, BellSouth, Chick-fil-A, and others. He is the co-author of the first book on IT planning, Strategic Planning for MIS, co-editor of The Management of Information Systems, and co-author of the widely-used IS textbook, Information Technology for Management. He has bachelor and master's degree in engineering for Cornell University and master's and doctoral degrees from M.I.T.'s Sloan School of Management.
