How is GSU Six Sigma "Gold" superior? |
Six Sigma is now a global trend—a methodology for business excellence through continuous improvement. Upon completion of this certification, participants will be equipped with the tools they need to optimize business processes and contribute to producing breakthrough results in corporate performance—the same process-improvement skills that have enabled such early Six Sigma pioneers as Motorola and General Electric to produce dramatic results in corporate performance.
Our curriculum integrates Six Sigma and lean, with business analytics, business intelligence, and decision support, making it the only comprehensive offering in Atlanta. Electronic materials, textbooks, case studies, and datasets will supplement this intensive, lecture-based training.
Participants will go through up to 9 weeks of comprehensive training (two 4-hour sessions per week—one on a weeknight and one on Saturdays).
- Green Belt candidates attend the first 5 weeks of our combined 9-week Green Belt/Black Belt program. The Green Belt certification culminates with an exam that is given every 2 to 3 months.
- Black Belt candidates attend all 9 weeks of the training. All candidates take the Green Belt certification exam. To earn a Black Belt, candidates must demonstrate their ability to apply Lean Six Sigma methodology to actual situations with process improvement opportunities using real or simulated data.

--Charles Hollingsworth (RealTime Gaming)
- "I took the Lean Six Sigma Gold training to help bulletproof my resume, but have found the basic principles so useful in my current position that I am seeing success levels immediately in my approach to problem solving and efficiency at work."
--Jeff Schumacher (Woodland International)
- "I had an interview last week with a marketing company. They were really excited about the Six Sigma. I said I was taking the Green Belt exam this month and I would be taking the Black Belt certification too. A lot of their clients use Six Sigma and they said just saying I had a Green Belt would be impressive to the clients. I don't even have it yet but it has been helpful."
--Anne Wittle, Robinson (College of Business MBA Student)
- "Excellent instructors with a wide array of knowledge and relate concepts to real world Lean and Six Sigma projects. I highly recommend this training
for personal and career development." --Feon Hughes (SunTrust Bank)
