Arun Rai is Regents’ Professor and Harkins Chair in Information Systems. His expertise is in the management of IT innovation, process innovation within and across firm boundaries, and the digital governance of inter-firm relationships. He co-founded the Robinson College of Business’ Center for Process Innovation, an interdisciplinary research center that applies an engaged scholarship model of industry-university partnerships to address scientific problems of practical importance. He has applied this model to much of his research to partner with major corporations, such as Daimler-Chrysler, Gartner, Georgia-Pacific, IBM, Intel, SAP, and UPS.
His research has also been sponsored by thought leadership forums and government agencies. He has chaired 24 doctoral dissertations and has served as a committee member on 26 others. He has published over 70 articles in peer-reviewed scholarly journals such as Information Systems Research, Management Science, and MIS Quarterly. He currently serves as Senior Editor of Information Systems Research and Associate Editor of Management Science. He is active in executive education and has held visiting appointments at universities in North America, Europe, and Asia.
