Dr. Pinello joined Georgia State University in 2004 immediately after receiving her Ph.D. She teaches financial accounting and has also taught accounting information systems.
Professor Pinello's research interests are in the area of financial reporting, analysts’ earnings and cash flow forecasts, and the effects of internal control weaknesses on analysts' forecasting abilities. Her research has been published in Journal of Accounting Research and Contemporary Accounting Research. Professor Pinello's dissertation won the 2005 Outstanding Dissertation Award of the Accounting, Behavior and Organizations Section of the American Accounting Association.
Dr. Pinello is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Florida and a Certified Internal Auditor. Before obtaining her Ph.D., Dr. Pinello worked as a Business Assurance Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is a member of the American Accounting Association and the Institute of Internal Auditors, and she is fluent in both German and Spanish.
