WRDS provides Web access to a number of financial research databases including:

Full Compustat Subscription

The "Full Compustat Subscription" includes data on approximately 22,000 companies (10,152 Active, 10,620 Inactive, 1,138 Canadian). The data history includes:

• Annual data for Active and Inactive companies from 1982 - 2001;
• Quarterly data for Active companies from 1991 - 2002;
• Segment data for Active companies from 1995 - 2001.

The "Compustat Complete Back Data Package" contains additional data history as follows:
 Annual data history for Active and Inactive companies from 1950 - 1981;
 Quarterly data history for Inactive companies from 1962 - 2002;
 Quarterly data history for Active companies from 1962 - 1990.

The "COMPUSTAT (Global)" database is our international database including data on 20,014 companies (15,936 Active and 4,078 Inactive). This includes some overlap with the COMPUSTAT (North America) database (i.e.,the "Full Compustat Subscription) in that the population of 20,014 includes 4,815 United States companies and 780 Canadian companies that are also in the Full Compustat Subscription. This means there are an additional 14,419 non-North American companies, which includes companies from 73 other countries. The data history includes data for up to 12 years (1991-2002). Of the 14,419 non-North American companies, 4,833  have at least 10 years of annual data history.
