Finance

Jayant R. Kale's (Finance) paper, titled "Rank Order Tournaments and Incentive Alignment: The Effect on Firm performance," was accepted for publication in the Journal of Finance. This paper is co-authored with Ebru Reis (Miami University) and Anand Venkateswaran (Northeastern University). Both Anand and Ebru obtained their PhDs in Finance from GSU.

PMBA Students Recognize Faculty

The Alpharetta PMBA Class of 2007 recognized Beverly Langford (marketing), Galen Sevcik (accounting), Craig Ruff (finance), and Asli Arikan (managerial sciences) for outstanding teaching. Congratulations to all!

Accounting

"Thomson Financial Research Bibliography: First Edition", released last December was edited by Lawrence Brown. The bibliography contains approximately 1,400 abstracts of papers written by over 2,000 distinguished professors and published in more than 200 leading accounting, business, and finance publications. Thomson Financial is one of the world's leading information companies.

Finance

Milind Shrikhande's paper (co-authored with Ajay Subramaniam and Nagesh Murthy), "Switching Costs, Dynamic Uncertainty, and Buyer-Seller Relationships", was published in the Naval Research Logistics Journal.

Marketing

Dan Bello's (co-authored with Dionysis Skarmeas and Constantine S. Katsikeas) paper, "Developing Successful Trust-based International Exchange Relationships," has been accepted by the Journal of International Business Studies, the premier international business journal. This follows the acceptance of another paper examining trust in international strategic alliances, by Organization Science, a premier journal in management.

Naveen Donthu's (co-authored with former doctoral students Amit Poddar and Jack Wei) paper, "Web Site Customer Orientations, Web Site Quality, and Purchase Intentions: The Role of Web Site Personality" has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Business Research.

Ed Rigdon's (co-authored with George Franke and Kris Preacher) paper, "Proportional Structural Effects of Formative Indicators," has been accepted for a special issue in the Journal of Business Research.

George P. Moschis has been invited to present his research at a special conference organized by the University of Michigan and UCLA. The conference is designed to bring together leading researchers from different disciplines to organize and assess existing knowledge about older consumers and to present the latest research and future research priorities in this area. Moschis has been invited recently to make similar presentations to other educational institutions in several countries, including Japan, Brazil, China, Switzerland, Thailand, and Malaysia.

David Nasser taught a seminar, "Current Topics in Buyer Behavior," at the United Arab Emirates University in Abu Dhabi, expanding a relationship between UAE University and the Robinson College of Business.

Wesley Johnston has been selected as one of 10 mentors in the Georgia State Staff Mentor Program.
