Biography: Dr. Agarwal’s primary areas of interest include investments and asset pricing. His current research focuses on various issues related to alternative investments including characterization of risks, performance evaluation, determinants of money flows, impact of managerial incentives on performance, and managerial risk-taking behavior in the hedge fund industry. His research has been published both in academic and practitioner journals including Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and
Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Alternative Investments, Foundations and Trends in Finance , and Journal of Asset Management. Biography: Dr. Fendlers research interests include security
price volatility and return distributions, cost of capital estimation,
managerial compensation, and financial statement analysis. Fendler coordinates
undergraduate and MBA core courses in finance and CMBA finance/macro-economics
core courses. He is chairman of the MBA Faculty Group Finance sub-committee,
and a member of the Masters Faculty Group, the Integrated MBA Program

Dr. Mettler joined GSU in 1998. Previously he has held positions at the Swiss Banking Institute (University of Zurich, Switzerland), Thunderbird (the Garvin School of International Management), and at New York University. His principle interests are in selected areas of International Banking and Finance, Risk Management of Financial Institutions, and Financial Education. He has won several teaching awards, including the faculty recognition award for teaching and the students’ Crystal Apple award for excellence in teaching at

Biography: Dr. Ruff is Assistant Dean for Executive Education and a clinical associate professor of finance at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. He was formerly a vice president in the Educational Products department at the CFA Institute (formerly, the Association for Investment Management and Research) and associate editor of the Financial Analysts Journal. He has also worked in the areas of equity valuation and quantitative portfolio analysis for Atlanta Capital Management, an institutional money management firm. Prior to
originally joining Georgia State in 1991, Dr. Ruff was a Senior Economist at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, where he specialized in interest-rate-risk modeling and mortgage-derivative products.
Dr. Ruff's research and practice interests are in investments, and he has published articles on interest-rate risk and hedging in both academic journals and practitioner publications. He has also co-authored a set of cases on international asset management that now reside in the Darden and INSEAD case collections.
Dr. Ruff has won the college-wide teaching awards at both Georgia State University and Georgia Tech, and he has his Ph.D. in finance from Virginia Tech. He is a CFA charterholder, a trustee for the CFA Society of Atlanta, a member of the Board of Directors for YieldQuest Mutual Funds, and a member of the academic advisory board for Decatur Capital Management.
