In
addition to our highly acclaimed part-time MBA, the Department of Finance
is pleased to offer a specialized Master of Science in Finance degree
program. The MS-Finance program is designed for mid-career professionals,
international students, and managers working in the broad area of global
financial management.
The
Robinson College of Business realizes that the MS-Finance degree may be
your preferred choice over the MBA, because of your need to specialize
in a specific functional area of management. The MS-Finance program gives
you the opportunity to focus on developing your theoretical, analytical,
and technical skills necessary for competing in an ever-changing financial
environment. In particular, the program trains you to acquire the means
to progress in your current organization, fulfill your long-term career
goals, and / or move into one of several reputed doctoral programs in
Finance.
Recognizing
the quantitative emphasis needed in developing your managerial abilities,
quantitative and analytical course requirements have been integrated in
the MS-Finance curriculum to complement the finance electives in your
chosen area of specialization. Together with an emphasis on either corporate
finance, investments or financial institutions and markets, the program
also enables you to learn from a global perspective. The curriculum includes
course-work in international finance and multinational financial management.
As the world of business becomes rapidly globalized, the program gives
you the opportunity to understand its widespread implications in the practical
world of finance and commerce.
Faculty
members in the Department of Finance bring together expertise spanning
most sub-fields that make up the theory and practice of modern finance.
Their superior research and teaching ability coupled with their extensive
real world business experience serves to keep our curriculum current with
changing times. The new state-of -the-art Aderhold Learning Center (opened
in Fall 2002) features sophisticated acoustically efficient classrooms
and seminar rooms fully equipped with audio-visual media for communication.
The North Metro campus of Georgia State University in Alpharetta also
provides a convenient location to pursue the MS (Finance) program option
for professionals in the greater Atlanta metropolitan area.
