New Health Informatics and Process Innovation Program

Health informatics is a multi-disciplinary discipline that combines knowledge from medical areas, healthcare administration, and information technology.

Several degree programs have been established at the Robinson College of Business, as a joint venture of the top-ranked computer information systems department and health administration. New advances in information technology are becoming available rapidly, and the future presents hopes and challenges for applying IT to the healthcare sector. Healthcare is an information-intensive sector now composing about 17 percent of the GDP, and new developments will be dependent on skilled graduates with competencies in health informatics.

There are several degree options to choose from to specialize in Health Informatics:
 
MSHA in Health Informatics
Master of Science in Health Administration with a concentration in Health Informatics
 
This is for students who wish to take a full complement of courses in Health Administration with a choice of 4 courses in computer information systems.
 
MS-CIS Health Informatics 
Master of Science in Computer Information Systems with a concentration in Health Informatics
 
This is for students who wish to take a full complement of courses in computer information systems with a choice of 4 courses in health administration.
 
MBA-HI
Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Informatics 
 
This is for students who choose the traditional MBA curriculum in a broad range of business disciplines and add two courses in health administration and two in computer information systems to have a Health Informatics concentration.
