Internship Opportunities

St. Ives Country Club: posted 05.13.2008
St. Ives Country Club, a high-end country club in the St. Ives community located in Duluth, GA, has two internships for hospitality students this summer. The Catering/Banquets/Events Intern would be working with the event coordinator, banquet staff and membership director on a number of events planned throughout the summer. This position will involve working 25-30 hours per week. Food & Beverage Supervisory Intern will involve working among the numerous food and beverage outlets of the club—from fine dining to the pool snack bar. This position is similar to a "Manager in Training" program and will involve 40 hours per week. Both positions, ideally, will start before the end of May. Crane Merchandising Systems in St. Louis: posted 05.13.2008
Crane Merchandising Systems has an outstanding internship for a student interested in the vending industry. Crane is the largest North American and European manufacturer of vending machines. The intern will rotate throughout the company, including merchandising and marketing. The Georgia World Congress Center Authority is seeking a Purchasing Intern. Under general supervision process purchasing requests for goods and services to support the on going day to day activities of the Georgia World Congress Center, GA Dome, and Centennial Olympic Park from the request to purchase (RTP) to receipt of goods. The Purchasing Intern will be responsible for processing and assisting in issuing purchase orders for equipment, services and supplies, requesting formal and/or informal quotations in accordance with purchasing rules and regulations, and conducting purchase order maintenance by ensuring delivery timeliness and invoice accuracy. Glorious Events, a high level catering and special event company, is seeking an intern to assist their Sales Department. Interns will be required to make cold calls, follow up on leads, assist with set-up for events, and communicate with vendors. This opportunity will provide hands-on experience working in Catering Sales in one of AtlantaÕs Top three companies. This position does not include monetary compensation but does provide invaluable experience in the industry. The GWCC is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to work within the Accounting Department. This position will be responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of a comprehensive fundraising program including, major gifts, corporate funding, and multi-year gifts. Fundraising plans will include event planning and sponsorships cultivation. This is an hourly position, requiring occasional evening/weekend work. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in fundraising, and a proven track record of securing corporate funding and major gifts, with a Bachelors degree preferred.
