As I See It: Reconnecting with Robinson | By Ken Bernhardt

Page 1 2

Earlier in this issue of State of Business, several Robinson College alums are featured. In addition to successful careers, each has stayed connected to their alma mater. Why should you consider connecting or reconnecting with us?

Reconnecting with Robinson

'With a quality relationship, when you need to hire new employees or interns, you will get preferred treatment, thus having access to the cream of the crop among our outstanding students.'A quality relationship with the College can pay big dividends. With a strong relationship, when you need to hire new employees or interns, you will get preferred treatment, thus having access to the cream of the crop among our outstanding students. There may be times when you have a project that isn’t worth the expense of a consulting firm but would make a terrific class project for a team of highly motivated students, who in turn receive valuable practical experience. How about speaking to classes, developing your presentation skills and raising your company’s profile on campus for future employees or customers? Finally, all of these activities come with a sense of giving back to the institution that helped your personal and professional development.

So what are some of the ways you can get involved?

Agree to serve as a mentor to one or more students. The commitment can be as little as one afternoon a quarter.
