Robinson to Launch Atlanta’s Only Executive Master’s in Finance

[JANUARY 2010]
Beginning in January 2010 Robinson will offer the Executive Master of Science in Finance (Executive MS-Finance) with a specialization in corporate finance.

The first such program in Atlanta, Robinson’s Executive MS-Finance is for rising professionals whose route to the C-suite
is functional expertise. The three-semester cohort-format program focuses on the decision-making, analytical, and technical skills required to compete in today’s ever-changing financial environment and also is well-suited for established professionals who want to update or expand their functional knowledge.

Executive Doctorate Debuts in Buckhead

One of the nation’s most innovative executive-level degree
programs is now under way. Robinson’s Executive Doctorate in
Business launched in August with a full cohort.

“One of the really unique aspects of the executive doctorate
program,” said director Maury Kalnitz, “is the caliber of participants that it has attracted from a wide geographic area. Most are established leaders in their fields who already possess advanced degrees but wish to continue their education to the highest level.”

“Many business schools offer business doctorates, but most are full-time programs that educate students for teacher-scholar positions,” noted Robinson Dean Fenwick Huss. “Our executive doctorate differs because it is tailored for busy executives who hold full-time positions in industry and want further development for their industry careers.”

The rigorous, three-year program is offered in an executive format with four three-day residencies per semester. Courses, which are held at Robinson’s Executive Education Center in Buckhead, focus on global business, leadership, and research methodology. Degree requirements include research projects in which participants investigate practical business problems that are cross-functional in nature. Program details are online at robinson.gsu.edu/execdoctorate.
