GEORGIAN UNIVERSITY PRESIDENTS VISIT GSU AND RCB

Rector Roin Metreveli, president of Tbilisi State University, and Rector Ramaz Khurodze, president of Georgian Technical University, visited GSU December 3-7 by invitation. These universities established the Caucasus School of Business in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1998 in partnership with GSU. The first MBA and BBA classes will graduate this year.

The presidents reviewed the ongoing curriculum development and faculty exchange programs with Associate Dean Fenwick Huss and Project Director Bijan Fazlollahi. They visited high-technology classrooms and distance learning facilities, and also discussed prospects for future cooperation with Associate Provost Tim Crimmins and Dean Ahmed Abdelel. Furthermore, Professor Metreveli met with the officials of Emory University to review their ongoing program with Emory Medical School. Many Georgian interns are serving at Grady Hospital. Professor Khurodze met with officials of Georgia Tech and discussed opportunities for future cooperation in engineering. President Patton and Mrs. Patton gave a Southern-style banquet in honor of the Georgian university presidents and their spouses. Guests of honor included Dean Harris and officials from Emory and Georgia Tech.
