ATLANTA, March 31, 2000. U.S.News and World Report's 2001 survey of the best graduate schools ranked the part-time MBA program at Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business ninth nationally (fourth among public universities), making it the fifth consecutive year that the College has been recognized by the magazine's annual survey. The ranking is included in the magazine's annual special edition guidebook titled "America's Best Graduate Schools." The guidebook and the magazine (April 10 issue) containing excerpts from the guide will be available on newsstands Monday, April 3. The college was the only university from the South in the list.
The list is based on a reputational survey of deans and MBA program directors in accredited business schools across the nation. For a complete listing of the rankings of full/part-time and specialty programs, access the U.S. News web site at http://www.usnews.com/.
"To be recognized in the top 10 for the fifth consecutive year affirms our position as one of the best business schools in the nation," said Dr. Sidney E. Harris, dean of the Robinson College of Business. "The U.S.News survey of business deans and MBA program directors across the country is a testament to the quality of our flexible MBA program and its national reputation," he added.
Approximately 2,500 students are enrolled in Georgia State's MBA program. Of that figure about 80 percent are considered part-time. The College's part-time or flexible program allows working professionals to finish their degrees in five years.
