December 11, 2001- The J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University today announced the addition of Tammy DeMel as the new Associate Director of External Affairs. DeMel will focus on national and local media relations for the College as well as other public relations activities. She reports directly to Gary McKillips, Director of External Affairs.
Prior to joining Robinson College, DeMel served as Senior Manager of Corporate Communications for Headhunter.net, where she led the company's public relations efforts and served as a media spokesperson. She also worked directly with Headhunter.net's senior management team to help craft company messaging to both internal and external audiences.
DeMel also spent seven years with Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., most recently as senior marketing manager for Turner Network Television.
Before coming to Atlanta, DeMel handled publicity for the Ballantine Publishing Group, a division of Random House, Inc. and the Putnam Berkley Group, now Penguin Putnam, Inc.
She received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the State University College of Buffalo and is a member of the Public Relations Society America (PRSA), Georgia Chapter and the Atlanta Press Club.
