Robinson College of Business Flexible MBA Program Named to Top Ten for Sixth Consecutive Year

ATLANTA, March 28, 2001 - U.S.News and World Report's 2002 survey of the best graduate schools ranked the flexible MBA program at Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business fifth nationally, making it the sixth consecutive year that the College has been recognized by the magazine's annual survey. Among public universities, the Robinson College ranked first nationally and was the only university from the South in the top 10.

In addition to the flexible (part-time)  MBA ranking, two of the College's graduate programs received rankings as well. The College's graduate program in Management Information Systems received an 11th place ranking, or 6th among public universities, and its Health Administration program received a 35th place national ranking, or 12th among public universities.

The rankings are included in the magazine's annual special edition guidebook titled "Best Graduate Schools." The guidebook and the magazine (April 9 issue) containing excerpts from the guide are available on newsstands, and the expanded online rankings are available at http://www.usnews.com/. The list is based on a reputational survey of deans in accredited business schools and corporate recruiters across the nation.

"To be recognized in the top 10 for the sixth consecutive year and to be listed as the top MBA program for working professionals among public universities is quite a testament to the tremendous quality of our program and faculty," said Dr. Sidney E. Harris, dean of the Robinson College of Business.
Approximately 1700 students are enrolled in Georgia State's MBA program. The College's flexible program allows working professionals to finish their degrees in five years.

The top 10 list includes:
1.  New York University (Stern)
2.  University of Chicago
3.  Northwestern University (Kellogg)
4.  DePaul University (Kellstadt)
