President Bush Honors Robinson EMBA Student Darryl Hicks

June 18, 2002 (Atlanta) Darryl Hicks, a Robinson College (Georgia State University) Executive MBA student, was honored for volunteerism by President George Bush during the President's June 17 visit to Atlanta. |

Hicks, who is employed as assistant to the CEO/Civil Affairs for AGL Resources, was presented the award for his tireless efforts on behalf of Habitat for Humanity International. He has worked locally with that organization as well as serving on the board of directors of Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. The organization is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian housing organization with national headquarters in Americus, Georgia. Since 1976, Habitat has built more than 100,000 houses in more than 80 countries, including some 30,000 houses across the United States and more than 660 in Atlanta.
According to Robinson Dean Sidney E. Harris, "We are proud to have Darryl as a member our Executive MBA class, but equally grateful for all he has done for the people of our city. Habitat for Humanity is one of this area's most visible and most successful projects. His efforts have enhanced the quality of life of many citizens and have set a shining example for all of us to follow." Hicks is a member of the 2003 Executive MBA class.
Robinson's EMBA is a 21 month program, designed for experienced executives and managers with an emphasis on education for the global marketplace. The program is ranked 20th in the world by BusinessWeek magazine.
