January 23, 2002 - Larry Scott has assumed duties as special consultant to the Dean's Office with responsibilities in the areas of graduate placement and student recruitment and retention for the MBA and specialized master's programs.
According to Dean Harris, "There are many commonalities in these two areas, particularly as they relate to relationships with external constituencies. Larry will review and develop policies, procedures and strategies that will help maximize our efforts in attracting and retaining top students and providing them the utmost in career opportunities upon graduation." Specifically, the new consultant will assist the Dean's office in building and maintaining relationships between the Graduate Student Services Office and recruiters, employers, College alumni, faculty, students, University administration and professional placement associations. He will also assist in the planning, development and conduct of student recruitment seminars and open houses, career workshops and other similar functions that facilitate the placement of students in internships and employment.
Scott is an independent consultant. Prior to starting his own consulting practice, he served for 22 years with the firms Price Waterhouse/ PricewaterhouseCoopers as managing director of national college relations.
The appointment became effective January 7.
