January 9, 2003 (ATLANTA, GA) -- Georgia State University's Robinson College today announced implementation of a $750,000 grant in Alexandria Egypt to develop a distance learning capability and executive education courses at the Alexandria Institute of Technology. Designed to strengthen business management and marketing in Egypt, the grant was awarded last month by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Faculty from Robinson are in the process of assessing program needs and working with the resources of the Government of Egypt and the Egyptian private sector to prepare courses, develop a distance education program, and train faculty and personnel.
H. Fenwick Huss, associate dean of the Robinson College of Business, stated "Not only do these projects give us an opportunity to help enhance education throughout the world, but they enable our faculty to gain firsthand experience in the international marketplace."
