April 1, 2003 (ATLANTA) Ed Baker, publisher of the Atlanta Business Chronicle and a Georgia State University alum, will be the keynote speaker at the Robinson College of Business Honors Day program Tuesday, April 8th at the Rialto Center in downtown Atlanta.
Baker will address the more than 300 undergraduate and graduate business students who are being recognized for their outstanding scholastic achievement and contributions to their various fields of study.
In addition to his role as publisher, Baker serves as chief marketing officer for American City Business Journals (ACBJ), the corporate parent of 41 weekly business journals in major markets across the country. He also oversees marketing of The NETWORK of City Business Journals, the national advertising representative firm of ACBJ, and is directly involved in corporate research efforts, technology advancement and new product development.
Previously, Baker spent 11 years in senior management at two of the nation's premier advertising agencies J. Walter Thompson and DMB&B in Los Angeles and Atlanta.
Baker is very active in the Atlanta community, serving on the boards of Junior Achievement, the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, Leadership Atlanta, American Red Cross and the Atlanta Business League.
