August 21, 2003 (ATLANTA, GA) -- The uncertainty surrounding issues such as the recession, war, SARS, corporate governance and the threat of terrorism have had a major impact on the U.S. economy. Now, more than ever, this challenging economic environment has left business leaders wondering if recovery is really at hand and how safe it is "to go back in the water."
To help companies plan, the Economic Forecasting Center (EFC) at the Robinson College of Business has partnered with the College's Office of Executive Education to offer live web casts of the Center's quarterly economic forecasts. The forecasts will be presented by the Center's director, Dr. Rajeev Dhawan. Dhawan is a regular contributor to national forecast surveys including the Blue Chip Economic Indicators, USA Today Forecasters Survey, the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia's Livingston Survey, and the Consensus Economics forecast panel in the UK. Recently, he was ranked one of the nation's most accurate forecasters by the Bank One Economic Outlook Center at Arizona State University.
"Current economic conditions make it more important than ever for companies to find tools that will help them make smart, strategic business decisions," said Preston Wilson, associate dean of executive education at Robinson. "The availability of the forecasts online will allow companies and their employees, here and abroad, to have instant access to Rajeev's expert analysis."
Annual subscriptions to the web casts are available through the College's Department of Executive Education. For more information, contact: Preston Wilson at email webconf@gsu.edu.
