Robinson Professor Named One of This Year's Key Influencers by Business Finance; One of Only Six Women to Make the List

January 28, 2004 (ATLANTA, GA) –Jane F. Mutchler, director of the School of Accountancy at the Robinson College of Business and Ernst & Young-J.W. Holloway Memorial Alumni professor has been named one of  Business Finance magazine's "2004's Influencers: 60 You Need to Know". Mutchler is one of only six women and five academics listed in the magazine's annual roundup of the 60 leaders who are shaping the future of accounting and finance.

Mutchler joins an esteemed list of regulators, watchdogs, corporate leaders and other academics including Paul Sarbanes, U.S. Senator and Ranking Member of the Senate Banking Committee; Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc.; William J. McDonough, chairman of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board; and Stephen Cutler, director of the SEC's Division of Enforcement.

An accomplished researcher, Mutchler has been published in the Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, and the Journal of Expert Systems. She also serves on the editorial board of Contemporary Accounting Research, and is an associate editor for Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory.

In addition to her role at Robinson, she is president-elect of the American Accounting Association (AAA).

According to Business Finance, "Because of that organization's (AAA) focus on accounting education, her presidency will require her to sell future finance executives on the profession's value."

This is the second time that the magazine has recognized a Robinson faculty member as a key influencer. Last year's inaugural list of 60 included Lawrence Brown, J. Mack Robinson College of Business Distinguished Professor of Accounting.
