February 10, 2004 The Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University has appointed David Forquer to the position of Assistant Dean for Executive Programs, effective immediately. He will lead the College's globally ranked Executive MBA program. Forquer replaces W. Preston Wilson and will report directly to Sidney E. Harris, Dean of the College.
Forquer, a faculty member with the College since 1988, previously served as director of the program for nine years (1992 2001). During that time, the program earned recognition as a top-20 EMBA program by BusinessWeek magazine. As a faculty member, Forquer teaches courses on corporate strategy and policy in the MBA, EMBA and executive education programs.
"The EMBA and Executive Education programs are critical to the overall success and reputation of the College," said Harris. "Dave's history of success with our EMBA program made him an ideal choice for this position. His corporate background and teaching experience give him an excellent understanding of both the needs of corporations and of the students who enroll in our executive programs."
In addition to his teaching duties, Forquer works with a number of corporations, including American Proteins, AmSouth Bank Corporation, AT&T, BellSouth, CareCentric Solutions, DaimlerChrysler, Earthlink, BankAmerica, Recovered Assets, Scientific Atlanta, Emory University, SouthCorp Packaging, and UPS. He is a member of the Board of Directors of American Proteins.
He holds BA degrees in History and Public Policy from Duke University, and an Executive MBA in Management from Georgia State University.
Robinson's EMBA Program continues to be ranked among the best in the world by BusinessWeek. Also, for the first time ever, Financial Times ranked the program on its list of the world's best. The program is designed for midcareer executives with significant professional experience and five years in management, and is a two-year program geared to reflect the ever-changing needs and issues of the management environment.
