Third Consecutive Year Robinson College's Entrepreneurship Program Ranked Among Best in Nation by Entrepreneur Magazine

March 29, 2005 (Atlanta) – For the third consecutive year, the J. Mack Robinson College of Business has been named one of the top 100 schools in the nation for entrepreneurship by Entrepreneur magazine's third edition of it's list of the "Top 100 Entrepreneurial Colleges and Universities" (April 2005).

The magazine researched approximately 1,000 collegiate entrepreneurship programs throughout the country and divided them into national and regional schools. In a survey of program director's faculty and alumni, Robinson's Herman J. Russell, Sr. International Center for Entrepreneurship is listed as one of the top 25 schools among regional universities nationwide.

The final rankings are based on more than 30 criteria, including course offerings, teaching and research faculty, business-community outreaches, research centers and institutes, advisory boards, off-campus programs, other entrepreneurial initiatives, degrees and certificates offered, and faculty and alumni evaluations.

"This achievement reinforces Robinson's reputation as one of the top business schools in the country," said H. Fenwick Huss, dean of the Robinson College of Business. "Our entrepreneurship program continues to flourish and serves a growing need for those interested in idea creation and business innovation."

The Center offers courses in entrepreneurship at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including business plan development, e-commerce, corporate entrepreneurship, family business, and one of the few international entrepreneurship courses offered anywhere. In addition, students are eligible for several scholarships as well as an opportunity to enter a business plan competition while in school. Entrepreneurship students also benefit from the resources available with the Center's Society of Entrepreneurs comprised of leading Atlanta entrepreneurs. The College's Entrepreneurship Center was named on behalf of noted entrepreneur, Herman J. Russell, founder of one of the largest minority-owned firms in the nation.

The J. Mack Robinson College of Business is one of the top-ranked business schools. The College's Flex (part-time) MBA program has been listed in the top ten by U.S. News for the past nine years and its undergraduate business program is ranked among the top 50 in the nation. Robinson's Executive MBA program is listed among the world's best by The Financial Times and BusinessWeek magazine. Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business has an enrollment of approximately 7,000 students and is located in downtown Atlanta.
