Georgia State University Partners with the Atlanta Compliance and Ethics Roundtable
Elects 2007 Chair

April 23, 2007 - (ATLANTA, GA) - Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business and the College of Law have partnered with the Atlanta Compliance and Ethics (ACE) Roundtable to strengthen the university's relationship with compliance and ethics professionals in the Atlanta business community.

Established in 2001, ACE seeks to foster an attitude of commitment and continuous improvement in the development of compliance and ethics programs by promoting integrity in leadership among local businesses. Georgia State's newly established partnership with ACE will further strengthen the organization's outreach mission by connecting both public and private professionals through the development of programs to share best practices and address common issues and challenges.

The Robinson College is also the home of the Southern Institute for Business and Professional Ethics, one of the leading centers promoting professional integrity and global corporate responsibility.

"ACE has served as a repository for the best thinking related to ethics and compliance," said H. Fenwick Huss, dean of Robinson College. "Combining this practitioner organization with the academic, research and outreach efforts of the Southern Institute positions the Robinson College as a leader in ethics education around the world."

As a result of the Georgia State-ACE partnership, Bob Frisbee, workplace ethics and compliance director for Southern Company, has been selected to serve as the 2007 chair. In his role at Southern Company, Frisbee has contributed significantly to the development of the company's current compliance program structure and has effectively managed the company's code of ethics and overall workplace ethics program.

"I look forward to working with ACE to help build a stronger ethical culture among our local businesses," said Frisbee.  "I believe that ACE provides the right atmosphere for compliance professionals to interact and have open dialogue about the impact of corporate compliance and ethics on business operations now and into the future."

"Bob has a track record of leadership in the areas of corporate ethics and compliance," said Huss.  "He brings outstanding credentials as a result of his work with Southern Company and is the ideal person to represent the ACE-Georgia State partnership."

Serving as board members of ACE from Georgia State are Jane Mutchler, associate dean for academic planning and programs; Joan Gabel, associate professor and interim chair of the Institute for International Business; and Marjorie Knowles, professor with the College of Law.
