Robinson College Names Interim Assistant Dean for Non-Degree Executive Education
September 13, 2007 - (ATLANTA, GA) - Craig K. Ruff has been named interim assistant dean for Non-Degree Executive Education for the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. The announcement was made today by Robinson Dean H. Fenwick Huss.
In his new position Ruff will be responsible for the promotion and execution of Robinson's current portfolio of non-degree executive education programs and for bringing to market new programs that will appeal to and can be custom-tailored to a wide range of business interests.
According to Dean Huss, "Craig will play a vital role in taking Robinson's large and talented faculty and leveraging that resource to bring the best in non-degree education to the business community of Atlanta."
Ruff, a clinical associate professor of finance at Robinson, was formerly a vice president in the Educational Products department at the CFA Institute (formerly, the Association for Investment Management and Research) and associate editor of the Financial Analysts Journal. He has also worked in the areas of equity valuation and quantitative portfolio analysis for Atlanta Capital Management, an institutional money management firm. Prior to originally joining Georgia State in 1991, Ruff was a Senior Economist at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, where he specialized in interest-rate-risk modeling and mortgage-derivative products.
Ruff's research and practice interests are in investments, and he has published articles on interest-rate risk and hedging in both academic journals and practitioner publications. He has also co-authored a set of cases on international asset management that now reside in the Darden and INSEAD case collections.
Ruff has won the college-wide teaching awards at both Georgia State University and Georgia Tech, and he has his Ph.D. in finance from Virginia Tech. Craig is a CFA charterholder, a trustee for the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts, and a member of the Board of Directors for YieldQuest Mutual Funds.
