GroupWise FAQ's

Q.

Why does GroupWise run slowly?

A.

Every time you open GroupWise, it has to process however   many emails you have in your mailbox (i.e., if you have 100 emails in your mailbox, GroupWise will open and be ready for use much quicker than if you have 3,000 emails in your mailbox).

Q.

Ways to speed up your GroupWise:

A.

Delete any old/unnecessary emails from your account (mailbox, cabinet, sent items, etc.)

Archive emails you need to keep but don’t need immediate (2 or 3 second) access time to.

Q.

Why should I reboot my computer?

A.

You need to reboot your work computer at least once a week to get program or virus updates.  It also refresh ram memory. This does not mean to simply “log off” your computer but to do an actual reboot. The steps to reboot a computer are:

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Shut Down
  3. Choose Restart when asked “What do you want the computer to do?”

Again this should be done at least once a week. Anytime a computer technician is helping you and asks you to reboot your computer, do the previously mentioned steps.
