Creating NAL Icons on Your Desktop

Novell Application Launcher (NAL) icons allow you to receive software updates that are pushed out over the Novell network. (Note: You cannot associate specific documents to a NAL icon, just applications.)

Features:

•  Windows-created launcher icons will have a black arrow in the bottom left corner. 
• NAL icons wil have a red arrow in the bottom left corner.
• Windows icons will not receive Novell updates.
• NAL icons will receive Novell updates.

To create the icons:

• Right click on the Start Button and select Explore.
• Double click on the RCB Programs folder in your user id folder under the Documents and Settings folder.
• Double click on Office XP.
• Click and drag the icon you want to your desktop.  The NAL icon you create on your desktop will have a "red" arrow showing.
• Any icon in the RCB Programs Folder can be copied to your desktop the same way.
