
Accessing Your RCB Workstation from
Off Campus Using pcAnywhere
Complete installation and configuration instructions are on the pcAnywhere CD available from RCB Systems Support.
At RCB:
- pcAnywhere is already installed on your RCB workstation
- Configure pcAnywhere on your RCB workstation
- Leave your RCB computer powered on and at the CTRL+ALT+DEL login screen
At Home or Off Campus:
- pcAnywhere has to be installed on the computer you try to connect to campus from
- Connect to the Internet from off campus
- Connect to the GSU campus by logging into the VPN (see topic below) client on your home computer or laptop
- Open a pcAnywhere remote session to connect to your on-campus computer
- Use the
command in pcAnywhere
- Login to your RCB workstation
Accessing Your GroupWise Archive from Off Campus
- Begin a pcAnywhere remote session and login to your RCB workstation as described above
- Open GroupWise and you have access to your archived emails
VPN
VPN (Virtual Private Network) - uses encryption and other security mechanisms to ensure that only authorized users can access the network and that only authorized users can access the network and that the data cannot be intercepted. Steps to use VPN :

Connect to the Internet from off campus

Login to the VPN client with your Novell NetWare network id and password
Now you can:

Access Spectrum, or connect to web applications, such as PeopleSoft HR and Banner
- Remotely access your RCB workstation using pcAnywhere
Using the VPN provides a secure, encrypted connection to the GSU network.
