How to Export Internet Explorer Favorites

1.  Export Favorites to a File

The procedure below is for Windows 95 machines which do not have separate user profiles enabled. If profiles are enabled on a computer, each user's bookmarks are kept separately and this procedure needs to be repeated for each user who needs to have bookmarks saved. 

1a.  Start Internet Explorer

1b.  Select the <File> menu then select <Import and Export...>.

1c.  On the next screen, Click <Next>

 

 

 

1d.  Highlight <Export Favorites and click <Next>.

 

 

 

1e.  Select the root of the Favorites as illustrated. Click <Next>.

1f.  Select <Export to a File or Address>.  In the box below, enter the path and name of the file where you would like to save the favorites.  Make a note of where you saved the file for future reference.  Click <Next>.

1g.  On the next screen, Click <Finish>.

1h.  The Success Dialog appears.  Click <OK>.
